New Update 2026: Tornado Trolley 2.0 and Enhanced Smith Machine
At Get RX’d, innovation doesn’t stop after launch. We continuously refine our equipment based on real-world training, engineering review, and customer feedback.
For 2026, we’ve introduced two significant upgrades to the RX3 Tornado Rack lineup:
- The new Tornado Trolley 2.0
- An updated RX3 Smith Machine with improved range of motion
Both updates are now available on applicable RX3 Tornado configurations. These refinements are built around one goal: smoother movement, tighter tolerances, and a training experience that feels closer to true free weights.
Tornado trolley 2.0 - Smoother travel, tighter tolerance, better cable tracking
The Tornado Trolley 2.0 is our most refined trolley design to date. It enhances adjustment smoothness along the uprights, improves cable alignment during movement, and increases long-term durability under heavy use.
What’s new in Tornado Trolley 2.0?
The updated design includes:
- Four built-in rollers per trolley (per arm)
- A redesigned, tighter-tolerance housing
- An upgraded grooved front roller
- An integrated protection bracket
The addition of four built-in rollers per arm improves stability and distributes contact more evenly along the upright. The tighter-tolerance housing reduces play, resulting in smoother repositioning and more consistent engagement during adjustments.
The updated grooved front roller enhances cable tracking throughout pressing, rowing, and fly movements. By keeping the cable aligned more consistently, friction is reduced and the feel of each rep becomes more controlled and predictable.
Finally, the integrated protection bracket prevents the rollers from contacting rack bolts or crossmembers during adjustments. This detail protects the rollers from premature wear and maintains smooth operation over time.
Together, these refinements deliver the smoothest glide and most premium Tornado movement experience we’ve ever offered.

Updated RX3 Smith Machine – Expanded range of motion
Alongside the Tornado upgrade, we’ve refined the RX3 Smith Machine system to deliver one of the lowest starting positions in the industry. The updated design now features a removable safety stopper and improved bar positioning.
What Changed?
The 2026 Smith Machine update includes:
- A new removable safety stopper
- A lowest bar position just 6.8" higher than a loaded barbell
- A raised storage position for improved overhead clearance
At its lowest point, the RX3 Smith Machine bar now sits only 6.8 inches above a loaded barbell. This allows you to perform deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts (RDLs), and other hinge movements with nearly the same depth and feel as free weights, something many traditional Smith machines cannot match.
To maximize range of motion, simply remove the safety stopper. It functions similarly to a J-cup, allowing you to unlock the lowest position when full freedom of movement is desired. Keep it installed when additional safety is preferred during heavier sets. This refinement provides a balanced solution: freedom when you want it, safety when you need it.

Why 6.8" matters for deadlifts and RDLs
Range of motion is critical for posterior chain development. Many Smith machines restrict depth due to higher starting positions, limiting the effectiveness of deadlifts and Romanian deadlifts.
By reducing the lowest bar position to just 6.8 inches above a loaded barbell, the RX3 Smith Machine allows lifters to achieve movement patterns that feel much closer to true barbell training. The result is improved versatility without sacrificing the guided safety and stability that a Smith system provides.
Combined with the modular RX3 rack platform, this updated Smith Machine creates a hybrid training environment where barbell, cable, and guided movement coexist seamlessly.
Continuous engineering refinement
At Get RX’d, product evolution is intentional. We design equipment to last, but we also refine it when we see opportunities to improve performance, durability, and user experience.
The 2026 Tornado Trolley 2.0 and Smith Machine updates reflect that commitment:
- Smoother mechanical travel
- Improved cable tracking
- Expanded range of motion
- Enhanced durability details
- More refined training feel
Innovation isn’t a one-time event. It’s ongoing engineering refinement driven by how people actually train. If you’re building a home gym around the RX3 platform, these updates represent the most advanced versions of our Tornado system available to date.
